  • Policy Toolkits - Coaches' guide to help administer Human Resources policies. Information includes a toolkit overview (At a Glance), instructions, memorandums, forms, and questions and answers. Also includes references to related policies and contacts.

  • Tools for Growth - Here you'll find a variety of tools that you can use to help you identify organization priorities and attract and retain top performers.

  • Interviewing in GTE - Many benefits are derived from spending time preparing to interview and select new employees. GTE must hire and promote talented, qualified employees for each position in order to meet the competitive challenges facing us today. This section is a tool that can help you make the best possible selection decisions.

  • GTE Core Competencies - One of the ways GTE will clearly differentiate itself in the marketplace is through its people. Competencies are the superior skills, knowledge, and behaviors that lead to high employee performance. This area discusses the key core GTE competencies and the kinds of behaviors that are important as you select, develop, and coach employees.

  • Career Banding - Career Banding is a flexible approach to valuing employee contributions in GTE. It not only identifies broad "roles" performed by employees, but also groups and transforms these roles into wider bands. Career Banding focuses on competencies; behaviors that are needed to be excellent performers at GTE. In this section, you can also find information on how Core Competencies are demonstrated by Career Band, the new Performance Assessment and Merit Planning process, and Employee Development via the Virtual Career Center.

  • Standards of Business Conduct - GTE has a rich tradition of reliability and trust, and preserving this tradition is a responsibility that must be shared by all. To help each of us better understand this responsibility, we prepared this business conduct guide.   Every employee must read and understand this information.

  • How to Work Within the New Telecommunications Environment - A guidebook for GTE employees on the new rules governing our organization, and how to position GTE to win in the marketplace by putting customers first.

  • Survey Results - VIEWPOINTS is the employee opinion survey process which gathers the opinions and "viewpoints" of GTE employees.  You may have seen a survey, or maybe you've already participated.  If you haven't received a survey in the mail, you will.  A random sample of GTE employees in each business receive the survey each month. Using this approach, most GTE employees will be given an opportunity to participate in any twelve-month period.

  • Management Development Courses - The development of each employee's career is a responsibility shared by the employee, the supervisor, and the company. Employees can stay current in their jobs by adapting to changing technology and skill requirements while achieving personal career goals.
